The National Center for Fathering and Free Market partnered once again to hold seminars in the Dallas area designed to inspire and equip men to be a championship father through interactive, practical, and challenging sessions. Championship Fathering is geared toward all dads of any circumstance.
The seminar began on Friday night with a session for moms and dads called "The Power of the Parenting Team." Saturday morning begins with a brief optional session for "Dads in Challenging Circumstances" (single fathers, divorce, step-families). The main session Saturday morning was for dads only and continues until 12:30 PM.
· How wives can support their husbands and help them become better fathers· The importance of fathers loving their children’s mother (even in difficult circumstances such as divorce)· Developing a parenting plan in the area of discipline to help your children to learn to be responsible for their own actions· The three critical areas for fathers to develop: o Loving- unconditional love communicated through things like time, talk, and touch lays a foundation from which a child can prosper and grow o Coaching- the life long process of shaping, mentoring, and empowering your child as they move into adulthood o Modeling- one of the biggest influences fathers have on their children is through what they model in their own lives; modeling is also the primary means faith is transmitted to children
James Ryle. Placed in an orphanage at the age of seven, and sentenced to the Texas State Penitentiary at the age of nineteen, James Ryle's life is a powerful and uplifting story of how God's grace can work all things together for good. James’ story of coming from very difficult roots to successfully raising four grown children will inspire fathers that it is possible for every man to become a better father regardless of their circumstances.Carey Casey.As Chief Executive Officer of the National Center for Fathering, Carey has earned a national reputation as a dynamic communicator, especially on the topic of men being good fathers. He is a committed father of four children and lives out his message of being an involved father. Carey is known as a compassionate ambassador within the American sports community. He has served with organizations like the Dallas Cowboys, the Kansas City Chiefs, and the 1998 Seoul Olympics to deal with the spiritual and emotional needs of the athletes.
